Shallow foundations are usually made near the soil surface, generally less than one third the depth of the foundation established foundation of width up to a depth of less 3 m. The depth of the shallow foundation is not a standard rule, but it is as a guide. Basically, the surface loading or other surface conditions will affect the bearing capacity of shallow foundation. Shallow foundations are usually used when the soil surface is strong and rigid enough to support the loads imposed where it supports the type of structure is not too heavy and not too high, are generally not suitable shallow foundation in weak or compressible soil is very poor, such as soil density poor, shallow foundations are also not suitable for the type of peat soil, subsoil young alluvial deposits and soil types, etc..

Type - Type of Shallow Foundations
