The first post we will review the
most important part in a building. That is the foundation. The foundation is
the most important part in setting up a building, without a solid foundation,
the building will undoubtedly stands strong. The foundation is divided into two
parts, namely the shallow foundation and deep foundation. To find out the
following will be reported.
A. Shallow Foundations
Shallow foundations are usually
made near the soil surface, generally less than one third the depth of the
foundation established foundation of width up to a depth of less 3 m. The
depth of the shallow foundation is not a standard rule, but it is as a guide.
Basically, the surface loading or other surface conditions will affect the
bearing capacity of shallow foundation. Shallow foundations are usually used
when the soil surface is strong and rigid enough to support the loads imposed
where it supports the type of structure is not too heavy and not too high, are
generally not suitable shallow foundation in weak or compressible soil is very
poor, such as soil density poor, shallow foundations are also not suitable for
the type of peat soil, subsoil young alluvial deposits and soil types, etc..

Foundations
1 Pad foundations (Foundations
Tread)
Foundation footprint (foundation
pad) is used to support an individual point load such as structural columns.
The foundation of this pad can be made in the form of circular, square or
rectangular. This type of foundation usually consists of a reinforced concrete
layer with uniform thickness, but the foundation pad can also be made in the
form of multilevel or hunched if this foundation is needed to spread the burden
of heavy columns.
